Thank you for signing up for our email updates. We are delighted to announce the return and launch of the 2024 Awards! With great Aussie Citrus at its seasonal best, once again it's time to get out your pans, choose your category, and Go for Gold!
Following the success of the 2023 Awards, the competition will again be held in Birregurra, 130kms South-West of Melbourne. Birregurra is an Aboriginal word thought to mean ‘Kangaroo Camp’ and is a town on Gulidjan Country in the beautiful Otways region of Victoria. Nestled inland from The Great Ocean Road, the town has a wonderful local community and incredibly strong food culture drawing on superb local produce.
It’s the perfect home for the marmalade awards and we are proud to be raising money for the Birregurra Community Health Centre , Colac Area Health Foundation and the Royal Flying Doctor Service this year. All three organisations provide critical rural medical health services within the Otways and regional Australia.
This year, we are excited to provide a showcase for both Homemade and Artisan marmalade makers.
The Australian Marmalade Awards homemade competition recognises the art and skill of domestic marmalade makers. So, if that’s you, we have five categories to test your skills, ranging from the traditional Seville to one for marmalades featuring Australian native fruits and flavours. To encourage young marmalade makers, we have a junior class and are looking forward to some amazing entries from young cooks!
The Artisan Awards are back! We are committed to supporting and helping small businesses to grow. If you are a small-scale marmalade maker using the open-pan method and selling your products, then the Artisan Awards are a great opportunity to showcase your products. The coveted Australian Marmalade Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are an excellent way to promote your business.
The Australian Awards are proudly sponsored by Beerenberg Farm, a family-owned business, and makers of fine preserves based in South Australia.
All the details you need to enter are here as well as some great tips from our experts on how to make a winning marmalade. For the latest updates follow us on Instagram and Facebook and keep an eye on the website.
